Surface Properties
Ra< 2μm
Compared to 20μm for a normal FDM print
-
The surface roughness of the parts has been tested to currently be around 2μm. As we refine the print head this Ra value will get smaller.
-
The surface is hard which makes it more wear resistant that traditional 3D prints.
Materials
A wide range of basic thermoplastics has been tested including PP, PETG, ABS and PLA. More materials will be added.
The print head can theoretically work with any type of thermoplastic.
-
Materials that are ISO certified for food contact and/or magnetically detectable can be used
-
Materials with low degassing properties can be used for cleanroom applications
-
Materials that are ESD safe can be used for cleanroom applications
strength
The strength test are still ongoing but the preliminary results show a 20% increase in tensile strength in the build direction
